posted on May 27, 2008 at 06:00 PM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

* WiiWare has launched since our last show, so we give our early impressions of two games gifted by listeners - LostWinds and Defend Your Castle. * Then we discuss the two new games in the rhythm-action genre, Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Revolution, focusing primarily on the drum kit for both. * Then, during the interactive segment, we discuss Penny Arcade Adventures and Lego Indiana Jones, and take a call about Xbox 360 GPU's failing.

147 - 05/11/08 Bobby Blackwolf Show - EA DRM, Nintendo Channel
posted on May 20, 2008 at 12:20 PM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

This is the episode from the May 11th show. There was no show for the week of May 18th. There will be a show on May 25th. * Allgames.com was hacked, and that contributed to a lot of lateness of shows recently. * Nintendo released the Nintendo Channel, but they need better gamers playing the video captures. * We've started to play Persona 3: FES and are wondering why people aren't getting all up-in-arms over the main gameplay element. * Electronic Arts announced that they would use SecuROM DRM in Mass Effect and Spore for the PC, only to relent later in the week. * Then we discuss GTA4 and the new Gears of War 2 footage.

146 - 05/04/08 Bobby Blackwolf Show - GTA4, Blu-Ray 360
posted on May 8, 2008 at 02:00 AM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

A word of note: Monday afternoon Allgames.com was hacked and taken offline due to spreading a virus. We have spent the better half of the week repairing the damage, but all feeds hosted on Allgames.com, including this one, were down. We apologize for the inconvenience. In this episode: We continue talking a little bit about Mario Kart Wii, but then jump right into Grand Theft Auto IV. We talk about the game itself and then the controversy around the game from political groups using the game to get into the spotlight. One such group is Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) who wants the game rerated because it's possible to attempt to drive drunk in the game (but extremely difficult to do.) We read a report that a Chinese company has been tapped to create an internal Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360, and some doubt it's source. We then play our entries in the Limited Edition GTA4 Xbox 360 Elite contest - be sure to visit our forums to vote! Then we take calls about GTA4, the new 360, and Kropotkin from Superhappyfuntimeshow tells us about Wii Fit, which was just released from Europe...And an old friend (?!) reappears.

145 - 04/27/08 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Aaron Schurman of Phantom EFX, Mario Kart Wii
posted on April 30, 2008 at 06:00 PM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

Tonight's live interview is with Aaron Schurman, CEO of Phantom EFX, discussing the Real Deal Casino suite of PC games and teasing about their upcoming PC FPS Darkest of Days. Don't gloss this one over just because it's about gambling - you might just be interested! Then we discuss our early impressions of two recently released Wii games - Battle of the Bands and Mario Kart Wii. We then take callers about the Wheel and about the elephant in the room we attempted to avoid talking about (since the game had not come out yet) Grand Theft Auto IV. You have until Sunday to enter into our contest to win a limited edition GTA4 themed Xbox 360 Elite courtesy of All Games Radio and The Gamerscore Blog!

143-144 - 04/13/08-04/20/08 Bobby Blackwolf Show - DLC Weapons, Betas, GTA4 Contest
posted on April 23, 2008 at 02:30 PM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

It's another twofer episode due to spending time making some GREAT contests happen - stay tuned to the end of both episodes to hear how YOU can win a GTA4 themed Xbox 360 Elite and about Unlocking the Achievement! On the first episode: Sam & Max Season Two has concluded, and we give a letter grade. Telltale also announced Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People set in the Homestar Runner universe. Battlefield: Bad Company was going to use micro-transactions for new weapons, but then pulled back. Charlie Daniels doesn't like that the devil can sometimes win in Guitar Hero III. We look at an unscientific poll to see what is more offensive in a video game. Then we take callers about Dan Hsu leaving 1up and the high price of Rock Band. On the second episode: The Metal Gear Online beta attempted to start but the stress test was just too stressful. Is this good for Konami or bad for Konami? The Wii Fit Balance Board is coming out in the US for a high price - but will anybody buy it? Prizefighter for the Wii will utilize the Balance Board as well. Midway announced Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, and boy are the fanboys upset. We take calls about this new Mortal Kombat, talking a little bit about Soul Calibur IV and Soul Calibur XBLA, and then about Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and their lack of a decent online mode. Remember to have your entries for the GTA4 contest in by 7PM ET on Sunday, May 4th! Please make sure your entry relates to The Bobby Blackwolf Show in some fashion.
