204 - 07/05/09 Bobby Blackwolf Show - BlazBlue, Starcraft 2 LAN Play, Gaikai
posted on July 6, 2009 at 05:00 AM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

We give our impressions of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, the latest 2D Fighter from the minds behind Guilty Gear. If you were hoping to play Starcraft 2 over a LAN with your friends, make other plans now. Did David Perry announce a cloud computing gaming service that might actually work in Gaikai? Then we take calls about some very hardcore dissection of BlazBlue in both gameplay and storyline.

203 - 06/28/09 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Shoplifting, Mortal Kombat IP Rights
posted on June 29, 2009 at 05:00 AM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

Fiercely independent studio iD Software is now owned by Zenimax Studios - parent company of Bethesda Softworks. Retailers are discussing introducing "Benefit Denial" technology to help prevent shoplifting - listen in amazement as our chatters confuse shoplifting with piracy! Who owns the rights to the Mortal Kombat franchise? Guess who thinks he does! Our music break is "To Love And To Hold" from Atlanta-area chiptune artist CC Ivory. We actually got no callers, hence the shorter duration.

202 - 06/21/09 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Activision vs. PS3, C64 iPhone App
posted on June 22, 2009 at 05:00 AM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

Be sure to check Bobby out on the Digital Cowboys podcast about music games and piracy! We talk a little bit about the Sam & Max Episode One game that came out on Xbox Live Arcade. We try to give away some Uncharted 2 beta codes during the show...Doesn't exactly work out. (Don't bother emailing for a code, they don't work anymore.) Activision tells Sony that it really should drop the price of the PS3 or else it will consider no longer supporting the platform. Sony responds with pointing out how many games are coming out. Apple rejects an officially licensed Commodore 64 emulator iPhone/iPod Touch app because it runs ROM's...Even though Sega's apps do the same thing. Then we take calls about email spamming (yeah, not about gaming), Activison vs. PS3, rumors of a PSN App Store, and Ghostbusters multiplayer.

201 - 06/14/09 Bobby Blackwolf Show - Motion Controls, 1 vs. 100, The Sims 3
posted on June 15, 2009 at 05:00 AM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

We begin by talking about the motion controls in Project Natal for the 360 and the balls-on-wands for the PS3. While discussing Milo, we bring up our corrupted Little Computer People disk on the Commodore 64. We look at Star Wars: The Old Republic and see how Lucasarts is going to make a better Star Wars MMO. The PSP Go was announced and it was not priced the way we expected. The 1 vs. 100 beta started in North America during E3, and we finally got a chance to play it. Getting our green gem on: We try to play The Sims 3 but we wind up having to crack it just to get it to run. Then we take calls about The Sims 3, the PSP Go, Motion Controls, and during the OLR throwover, we discuss Nintendo's upcoming Demo Play functionality.

200 - 06/07/09 Bobby Blackwolf Show - E3 Wrapup
posted on June 8, 2009 at 05:00 AM in The Bobby Blackwolf Show

This recording begins with an explanation for the recent lack of updates to the RSS Feed. We just got back from E3 2009 and we discuss our favorite games of show: The Beatles: Rock Band, Brutal Legend, Split Second, and Scribblenauts. Find out which one got Game Of Show from us! Also check out E3Coverage.com for videos from the show floor. We discuss the changes with the Xbox Live dashboard and what they will and won't do. We sat in on a Roundtable Q&A session with Shigeru Miyamoto and talk about some of the highlights from that. Then we take calls about the Brutal Legend lawsuit brought on during E3, Project Natal and other motion controllers, and other E3 madness.
