We mourn the loss of the E3 trade show as we know it, based on early rumors before the official announcement scheduled for Monday. We look at why some publishers allegedly pulled out, and reminisce about the E3's of yore. Microsoft says that new Xbox Live Arcade games will come every week for the rest of the year...But will they all have screen burnin like GALAGA as reported to by a listener of the show? Also, PSP Firmware 2.8 is out to try to convince you that homebrew isn't all that and a bag of chips. We're speaking on a panel at this year's Dragoncon on Friday night - stop by if you're in town!
Sorry the show is a little bit late getting up - some things out of my control occured to delay the editing process. Happy birthday to us! There's a little bit of backpatting going on. To celebrate, we decide to give GOOD NEWS about the Sony PS3 - like...It's going into production! And there's a trailer that doesn't look half bad and it's actually gameplay! We then talk about Infinium Labs bringing their store online to sell the Phantom Lapboards in mid-August. Is your DS Lite cracking on the hinge? Nintendo will take a look at that for you. We look at a student game called Narbacular Drop which bears a striking resenblance to a game Valve announced this week - with good reason. England has an energy crisis, and it's the fault of leaky consumer electronics like video game systems. Skie from Orange Lounge Radio wishes us a happy birthday and asks us what the biggest story of the past year (other than Hot Coffee) has been...The answer may surprise you! A sports journalist penned an editorial blaming all of America's sport problems on video games, and a caller kinda agrees with him. A game developer then blames World of Warcraft for taking all of the time away from PC gamers so they don't buy other PC games. Here's to another year of podcasting! Hope it all doesn't go downhill from here...
This week's interview is with FAIRDALE KINGS of FKRosters.com to talk about naming each and every player in a Division 1-A school for EA Sports NCAA Football 07. Find out why he does it, how he does it, how much it costs, and how far he is just two days before the release of the Xbox 360 version. Bizarre Creations has finally made the Cat and Mouse mode of Project Gotham Racing an official reality...kinda. There's a resolution to the hot Sony Ad topic from last week, and the story is now concluded. Microsoft is releasing an Xbox Live Arcade game every Wednesday, and you can get free points and a pizza by sending them pictures of a 1986-style party. The developers instruction manual for the Nintendo Wii controller has leaked - find out what may cause your Wii to not work!
Are games racist? We examine one particular company that has made some people say yes - and unfortunately Bobby Blackwolf angers the chat room with some of his perspectives. There is a leaked shot of an Xbox 360 motherboard with an HDMI port on the back - real or fake? Also, Microsoft plans on releasing their iPod killer with Xbox Live-like features this holiday season. The Nintendo Wii is on track for our October 18th release date speculation because they've already begun retail production. We discuss how Square-Enix handles the media with their embargo of information on Valkyrie Profile 2. Plus, we talk a little bit about Darfur is Dying, a Flash game about the plight of Sudan refugees in Africa. We end with a rare beg of our listeners to nominate an independant podcast to the Podcast AWards.
This episode was to be billed as an extra length episode (since it was our 50th episode) but unfortunately our scheduled guest could not make it. The Prey demo for the Xbox 360 DID make it out, however, but who's fault is it for it being late? This week's stupid Sony comment comes from Kaz Hirai about game pricing. We get a call from 2K-SPORTS-FAN about what he saw at the World Cup in terms of gaming. If you have a PSP with the 2.50 or 2.60 firmware, you can downgrade to 1.50 now! Casual gamers are really hardcore about their casual games, and women are really big on their mobile games. We get several callers wishing us a great 50th episode. Rockstar has been hit with lawsuits from both the US government and an out-of-work actor. Austrailians won't get to cut people's ears off in Reservoir Dogs, either. Sega plans to resurrect the arcade in the US, but how? We also announce the Bobby Blackwolf Partner UNO Challenge, right here on Allgames.com! We close by discussing for a short time Awesome Arcades, a new in-home arcade unit bringing the golden age of arcades to your living room with 21st century technology.
