Tommy Tallarico, the prolific game music composer, TV star, non-profit organization founder, and concert tour creator joins us on an extended edition to discuss a multitude of topics. Included in the interview is G4's Judgment Day and where it has gone. Also we talk about the freak chance encounter that landed Tommy in the business. We also answer the question of if Tommy really hates Nintendo because he was 'fired' from Metroid Prime. (However, we apologize for the audio popping during this question and answer - there were technical difficulties but what was there was too good to cut!) Then we turn to Video Games Live, delving into why it starts with Pong and why you should trust them to not cancel a third time. Also we get some EXCLUSIVE UPCOMING DATES that have NOT been announced - you may be able to ALREADY BUY TICKETS for certain cities! We also answer the question about if Final Fantasy is going to be included or not. We drag ANOTHER EXCLUSIVE out of Tommy that will make anyone in a high school band VERY excited! We then ask Tommy why he rigged the GANG awards (which will be broadcast LIVE on All Games Radio) to give Advent Rising 10 nominations, and then discuss the amazing process behind some of his work on Advent Rising - which we then play for you. Afterwards, we read an email from a listener about sports games - is 2K Sports making a Legends of Football game, and why can Midway make an MLB game if Take-Two has the exclusive rights? Once again, we apologize for the technical difficulties, PLEASE bear through them and enjoy the content. Tommy sure knows how to talk, and we weren't interested in stopping him!
Careful, PS2 and PSP gamers, if you want to play an EA Sports title online. We warn you about a subscription fee they don't tell you about, but apparently it's been common knowledge to a caller for quite some time now. A Philadelphia news station carried a Myspace-like warning about sexual predators seeking children in Pictochat, without actually going after the sexual predator that was in the same room as them during filming. But hey, at least Nintendo is teaming up with Opera to bring web browsing to the DS! An unidentified source blaims a German chip manufacturer to why you don't have an Xbox 360. On the PS3 front, we've heard everything from September, 2006 to mid-2007 for a launch price for it and the PlayStation HUB onlien service, and a financial analyst firm claims that the PS3 will be $900! There's a new e-sports league out there, and kicks off in Kentucky. A caller calls in to talk about the new PC RTS Star Wars: Empire At War. Sony Online Entertainment REALLY wants you to play their games - they're desperate! And there's a certain movie director that's tired of making bad films based on video games, and threatens to quit. All Games Radio, our new 24-7 Internet Radio Station, is now live streaming game music and other original content, come check it out at allgames.com!
Do YOU know what a Blue Ocean is? Nintendo says that you WILL know what this marketing buzzword will mean after they say it a thousand times and advertise it on daytime television. The DS gets voicechat, but not during gameplay. You can also soon experience the wonderful world of download stations at a retailer near you! Halo 2 IS coming for the PC, but only for a specific OS that nobody has yet. The PS3 might be shown at the Taipei Game Show, just like it might have been seen by a website claiming to have a first-hand look at the console. There's a game for the Xbox 360 that Core users can't play - and it's a sports title! Soon, you can buy a UMD with your DVD for movies you bought originally years ago. The REAL father of video games is honored at the White House this week. Game recruiters stand up to the employers who overwork their employees...Is it a good start? Independant games are going to be tracked by the NPD Group, will this hurt or help the industry? Note to people who work for New York government: Don't Play Solitaire. Trust me. The AIAS awards are in the can, and might be on a TV near you next year.
We didn't have enough interest in a full retro roundtable, but that doesn't stop a caller from chiming in on the Amiga and the Commodore 64. Sony decided that they needed to stand up to Microsoft in terms of online gaming in the next generation, as well as releasing more rumors about PS3 functionality. Microsoft fixed, and took away, a little bit of functionality with a recent dashboard update. While there IS a script for a Metal Gear Solid motion picture, we know who is NOT anywhere near it. Our favorite should-be retro title may release soon! We also follow up on the World of Warcraft controversy regarding a GLBT guild advertising for members in-game, along with a caller's thoughts. We also announce several dates for video game music concerts occuring in North America.
We got punked, Nintendo revealed the DS Lite, and Bobby Blackwolf thinks it's a bad idea, while a caller disagrees. The ESA is enforcing a rule about scantily clad women at E3, and it's a great first step at bringing E3 back to where it should be as a trade show. There's a gubernatorial candidate in Texas who wants an insane sales tax on violent video games, junk food, and soda. Blizzard asked a GLBT guild to stop recruiting in World of Warcraft, because they wanted to prevent harrassment of said group. Take-Two is seeking a buyout because of poor finances, probably because more parents are gaming with their kids and not letting them play GTA. There's some new info about Tetris DS, including the new mode using the stylus. And a caller comes in to talk about the Play! Video Game Symphony concert coming to Chicago. Next week, we're live on Saturday night because Sunday night is reserved for a commercial watching party - so we're convening a gamer roundtable all about retro games...Listen to find out how you can be a part of it!
